RIB safari with war history in the Oslo Fjord — from Færder Lighthouse to Bolkerne Fort
**Join us on a spectacular and educational RIB tour where speed, nature and dramatic war history meet! **
The tour starts at high speed through the beautiful Oslo Fjord, while our guide gives a vivid insight into the events before and during the German invasion of Norway on 9 April 1940. We follow the route used by the Germans as they sailed into the fjord towards the capital, and learn about how Norway tried to defend itself.
We visit Færder Fyr, at the far end of the fjord — an important strategic point both for navigation and surveillance.
Next, we head for the Bolærneøye, where we disembark at BolFort. Here we take a small tour on foot, where we will see remnants of the defensive works, old gun positions and other visible traces from the war period. Our guide tells about life on the island during the occupation, and about the fort's role in the defence of Norway.

What is included
- We have good driving glasses for all guests so the experience will be optimal
- All guests receive a life jacket with good buoyancy. We have in different sizes.
- If necessary, we have thermal suits, hats and mittens.
Practical information
We appreciate if all guests can meet 15 min before departure so we are ready for dressing at 1pm. Attendance is outside the reception at Havna Tjøme Hotel where the guide and Skipper will meet you.
Even on hot sunny days it can get a little chilly when we speed the boat.
Therefore, remember to bring an extra windbreaker and a warm sweater. Suitable footwear is also an advantage.
If it's cold or it's raining I have extra thermo suits so no one will get cold.
This is a walk with moderate physical impact. Pregnant women and guests with back/neck problems should consider their own participation.
For safety reasons, the minimum height is set at 140 cm.
