Selsafari in Færder National Park — close to the tranquility and rawness of nature
This tour has the main focus on experiencing the rock coppice in its natural environment. On our seal safari in Færder National Park you will have a unique opportunity to get up close to these fascinating animals in beautiful surroundings, far from the noise of the city.
With the sea-safe RiB we take you out into the outer archipelago of the national park, where seals often rest on hot rocks or curiously follow along from the surface of the water. We approach carefully and with respect, so that the animals are not disturbed. Along the way, our guides share knowledge about the seal's behaviour, habitats and how it adapts to marine life.
The tour also gives an insight into the unique nature of Færder National Park, with its rich bird life, varied geology and open coastal landscapes. Everything is carried out with a focus on sustainability and natural considerations, so that both people and wildlife can thrive side by side.
An educational nature experience for the whole family — with the harness at the centre.
(It is a weather-prone trip and cancellations may occur. Final decision is made the day before. Of course refund if it has to be canceled)
What is included
- We have good driving glasses for all guests so the experience will be optimal
- All guests receive a life jacket with good buoyancy. We have in different sizes.
- If necessary, we have thermal suits, hats and mittens.
Practical information
We appreciate if all guests can try to meet 10 min before departure.
Attendance is outside reception at Havna Hotell Tjøme.
Even on hot sunny days it can get a little chilly when we speed the boat.
Therefore, remember to bring an extra windbreaker and a warm sweater. Suitable footwear is also an advantage.
If it's cold or it's raining we have extra thermo suits so no one will get cold.
This is a walk with moderate physical impact. Pregnant women and guests with back/neck problems should consider their own participation.
For safety reasons, the minimum height is set at 140 cm.
